MISSION STATEMENT

Flight Crew

Dreams Take Flight is a nationally registered Children’s charity in Canada with eight chapters. Each chapter consists of a dedicated group of Air Canada employees, family members, and associates, all of whom volunteer to raise money in order to take medically, mentally, physically, emotionally or socially challenged children to Disneyland. It is a one day all expenses paid trip for the children to meet Mickey and his friends.

We raise money throughout the year in several ways. We are honoured to benefit from major golf tournaments held by Cardel homes, Pharmasave and Visions Electronics. We also benefit from several other golf tournaments through the summer. This year we are thrilled to receive assistance from the Black Tie and Blue Jean Gala event, held July 7th, 2013. Corporate Calgary is also very generous and we gratefully receive donations throughout the year.

Air Canada donates a Boeing 767 to each chapter for the day to fly the children to Disneyland Los Angeles or Disneyworld Orlando. The money we raise throughout the year is used to pay for all the expenses for the children. This includes fuel for the aircraft, admission to the park, spending money, souvenirs, gifts and clothing to identify the children and their escorts. We are grateful to our wonderful sponsors that donate services and products to our charity.

Air Canada employees and supporters of Dreams Take Flight all donate their time to fundraise, plan & operate the flight, and administer the charity. This includes the ground & flight crew, the medical team as well as all other services required to make the flight a success.

Over the past 20 years Dreams Take Flight Calgary has taken 2845 children on this grand adventure! Our goal for October 23, 2013 is to take another 138 deserving children to the happiest place on earth - Disneyland.
